Discover the beauty of the Margaret River region

Located in the South West of Western Australia, Margaret River is one of the most infamous wine regions in Australia, and the world. But it’s not just the wine that brings people to Margaret River. It’s the great surf, the pristine beaches, decadent local produce, and of course, the people.

We’ve taken a moment to list our top 5 things to do in the Margaret River region.

1. The Margaret River Famers’ Markets

Every Saturday, the local farmer’s market comes alive, with stalls featuring some of the best and freshest produce in the region. From vegies, local eggs and delectable bakery goods to delicious coffee, nougat and dishes made before your eyes – every corner is bustling with mouthwatering food and friendly faces, all year round. To find out more visit their website.

2. Surfer’s Point

Home to the annual Margaret River Pro surfing comp, Surfer’s Point offers breathtaking views of one of the best breaks around. Head down for sunset with a bottle of wine and a picnic rug, or take a drive during the day and grab a smoothie from Acai Corner, a new food van that offers healthy and delicious drinks and snacks to anyone that needs a boost.

Where? Prevelly

When? Sunset, or anytime the wind is low.

3. Swings Taphouse and Kitchen

Award-winning winery Swings and Roundabouts has a tap house and kitchen located towards the bottom of town. It’s a vibrant hub for wine and food lovers who appreciate a good vibe and amazing food – think delicious share plates, wood-fired pizza and wine, on tap. Book in advance or take a punt and get a table in the cosy bar section by the fire.

4. Leeuwin Estate for Lunch

For fine dining overlooking a breathtaking bush setting, we highly recommend Leeuwin Estate. The service is on point, and the wines are by far some of the best in the Margaret River region. Look out for their alfresco concerts, which happen on the green beneath the stars. Past performers include Ray Charles, Diana Ross and more recently, Chris Isaac.

When? Lunch or dinner.

5. Family fun

There are heaps of great adventures for kids in Margaret River, so we thought we’d list some of the more popular ones here:

There are also some great family-friendly breweries, with playgrounds for the kids to enjoy, while you kick back and taste some our region’s best beers, ciders and nosh.
